DNA Policy - Missed Appointment Policy
Important Information
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and situations may arise that prevent you from attending your scheduled appointment. Our goal is to provide high-quality care to all our patients, and part of this involves managing our appointment schedule effectively. Missed appointments could have been allocated to another unwell patient.
To help us serve you and others better, please review our missed appointment policy.
Patients are required to notify the clinic at least 24 hours in advance if they need to cancel or reschedule their appointment.
Cancellations can be made via phone or email.
An appointment is considered missed if the patient fails to show up without at least 2 hours prior notification.
Persistent No-Show Patients: Patients who miss three or more appointments in a 12-month period may be subject to review and potential discharge from the practice, except in cases of emergency or exceptional circumstances.
Cough, Colds in Children
Children can pick up viral infections such as cold and flu more easily than adults. This is because their immune system is still developing. A viral infection is an infection caused by a virus (germ). View more information here https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/colds-coughs-children/

GP Visit Card Under 8
How to register?
Many parents are unfamiliar with the procedure of registering new babies for the under 8 card and automatically assume their baby is covered because of their age. This misunderstanding often leads to confusion and upset when they arrive at the clinic or an out-of-hours service without a valid card, resulting in charges as private patients.
In order to avoid this we would like to remind parent of the following:
A parent can apply online and leave the PPS number blank.
The HSE will text them a GMS number and the card will follow a few days later.
Parents should register their child early - ideally at the two check-up.
Please find below the link to the HSE website, where you can find more information. Usually, after receiving a text with a card number, the physical card will be sent to your home address within a few days.
